I provide smart, ambitious women with the practical and mindset tools needed to advance their careers and achieve the salary increases, promotions, job titles, responsibilities, and fulfillment they want and deserve.
I believe that once a woman realizes how much of what she wants in her career is within her own control, she becomes unstoppable, and I am passionate about providing both support and a highly-personalized blueprint towards new career heights.
THE STORY
HI THERE, I'M TONI PATTERSON.
For as far back as I can remember (I mean waaay back, like 4th grade), the push in my family was for me to grow up and get a ‘good job’ since that was the path to job security (can you tell this was the 90s?), instant respect, inevitable fulfillment, and money…let’s not forget the money. Without putting much thought into it, I simply believed that by getting a first good job that I was on the path to career success and that, much like being on a conveyor belt, if I stayed on the path, eventually I would get all of the things I’d been promised when I started out.
Once in that first ‘good job’, though, it didn’t take me very long to realize that just showing up and working hard was not going to get me that success that I’d thought was inevitable.. All that was getting me was...more work!
I became extremely discouraged. Instead of winning at work, I was DEFINITELY LOSING. I was losing out on key assignments because of fear of raising my hand, or not realizing that I should, I was losing out on opportunities to let my light shine because I didn’t know how to let my superiors know all I was doing and all I was capable of doing, I was losing money left on the table by not negotiating, And as a result, I was also losing sight of my career dreams (and, in some senses, myself).
Eventually, because I was so discouraged and confused, I became a work automaton, dragging myself to work each morning, going through the motions throughout the day without any joy or enthusiasm for what I was doing, then driving home each evening only to crawl into bed to watch late night King of Queens re-runs and simultaneously surf the net. It was not as pretty as it sounds.
A major shift for me came one day when I read an article about an extremely impressive woman who, based on the number of things she’d accomplished in her career at that point should have been about 250 years old, but who, in actuality was only 2 or 3 years older than me at the time.
How, I wondered, did she make all of that happen so fast? It seemed impossible, yet there it was in black and white. Something in that woman’s story reignited my own fire for success. I became a true student of all things career advancement. I began to read everything I could get my hands on regarding climbing the corporate ladder and navigating the not-so-straightforward corporate environment.
I spoke with people in many organizations and industries and I learned the unwritten rules of the game, including where to go, who to talk to, and what to do in order to get things done. I learned how to work better with the people in my own organizations. I learned to make the ask when there was something that I wanted or thought I deserved.
And it paid off! Once I implemented all that I’d learned, I began to achieve great things in my career, including earning repeated promotions quickly, getting tapped for key, high profile assignments, and earning the sponsorship of key players at high levels of my company.
After ‘cracking the code’ for myself, I became excited to help other women do the same. As a career mentor, I use the learnings I have curated over the years and the tips, tools, and processes I have cultivated to assist ambitious women to reach their own career goals.

Fun Facts
- I've found that one of the best things about having a child is the opportunity to shamelessly sing along to pop and Disney songs anytime, anyplace, and to be required to know about all of the latest dances. And I do.
- I’m a journal junky. Not ‘I like to journal.’ More like, ‘I like to buy beautiful journals.’ At any given time, you can find 6 or 7 gorgeous (mostly unwritten-in) journals at my house. I never met a stationery store I didn’t like.
- I’m a die-hard sports fan. Finding me on a Sunday afternoon in the fall and winter is pretty darn easy (Go Birds!) One of my bucket list items is to travel to all four tennis Majors (Wimbledon, U.S. Open, Roland Garros, and Australian) in a single year.
- While I'm definitely a more productive woman these days, I'm still known to enjoy a good King of Queens re-run now and again.
