‘Hard Work’ is Not The Problem

Oct 24, 2018

You know that phrase “Work smarter, not harder?”

Well, it’s not my favorite.

I mean, I absolutely agree that working harder is NOT the answer.

But I hate the implication that the struggles you’re having at work are because you aren’t smart enough.

That’s just not the case!

In fact, pretty much all of the women I encounter who are having a hard time setting boundaries or achieving their career goals are smart as H-E-double hockey sticks.

The problem, it turns out, is not with their smarts or their skill set or their education level.

It’s with their strategy. Meaning, they don’t have one.

Long gone are the days when double-digit salary increases, promotions, high-profile projects, and work-life balance are just going to plop into your lap. (Did those days ever even exist?) ⁉️

These days, in order to have everything you want in your career, you need to have a focused plan of action crafted to get you the success you want in the least amount of time possible.

Without that, you’re likely to find yourself a year from now stuck in the same place you’re in today.

Do you have a strategy for having the career you want?
